From Weeks of Video Editing to Minutes
Where TranscriptPad truly became indispensable, however, was in creating deposition video testimony for trial. Because many witnesses in Matthew’s cases are located more than 100 miles from the courthouse, or even outside the country, video testimony is often the only option. Before TranscriptPad, editing those videos was a nightmare.
“It literally took weeks of my time,” Matthew says. “I was scrubbing video second by second, trying to line it up with the transcript.”
Then he discovered TranscriptPad’s video sync. “The first time I made a video with the sync, I honestly wanted to cry. It was so easy.” By simply highlighting text, Matthew can instantly generate perfectly synced video clips without any manual editing or external software. “What used to take weeks now takes minutes.”
A Verdict That Sent a Message
That efficiency paid off in a recent trial where synced deposition videos played a decisive role. Jurors could see and hear investigator testimony exposing how flawed the bank’s processes were.
“Those videos are what got us that big verdict,” Matthew says.
The jury awarded $20 million in punitive damages, plus $100,000 for emotional distress—the largest verdict of its kind in this area of law. “When the clerk read ‘$20 million,’ we were just flabbergasted,” Matthew recalls. “It was a special moment.”
While the verdict may be reduced on appeal, its impact is undeniable. “It sends a message. Banks and credit bureaus now see what a jury is willing to do.”
Built for Trial
“We were trying to do what the other side was doing with tech teams,” Matthew explains. “LIT SUITE does that, and honestly, I think it does it better.” From seamless iPad-to-courtroom connections to reliable Mac backups, LIT SUITE has become part of the firm’s daily workflow. “It’s easy to learn, it doesn’t crash, and it just works when you need it to.”
For Matthew Loker, using the LIT SUITE is about clarity, efficiency, and persuasion, all in service of his clients.
